Last spring/summer we renovated our brick cape cod (doubled footprint on three levels). I am over the moon with the results. . . . 

 

Our architect Mike Nawrocki was superb.  He understood my wishes to incorporate/retain the character of the original cape. His plans involved creating a new hallway through the center of the house...  It really joins the house as one, creating natural flow between the new and existing sections of the floorplan.  He also "got" my style and worked with our builder to adjust the fine details / trim work / design elements as they were building....

I'm happy to recommend Mike Nawrocki very highly. My wife and I were very pleased with his services. He listened carefully to our ideas and plans and made practical and clever suggestions in working out various design issues. He drew up a full set of working drawings that our contractor then used for purposes of adding a 3-story addition to our house. We have received many compliments from friends and neighbors on how skillfully the new addition blends into the existing house. Our contracting firm had such a good experience working with Mike that they have since done several more projects with him. They were impressed with his architectural knowledge, the thoroughness and quality of his drawings, and his easygoing manner and professionalism, and so were we.

At the risk of going on and on, I have to tell you - I LOVE IT!   It so perfectly suits our style and at the same time is so special and unique compared to anything else in Great Falls. We kept looking at the old drawing side by side and thanking the Lord that we didn't move forward!!!

I have to tell you we are enjoying the house so much. The feedback we get from passers by is amazing. Mike and I have enjoyed the porch so much this summer; and especially now that the weather has cooled off, it is a GREAT place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner, entertain, read the paper, or just hang out. You did an awesome job with all of the fine details. We are so proud to live in such a beautiful home.

Yes, we're thrilled to be enjoying the house now that (almost) all of the work is done.

 

The design is working well both as a home space and an entertaining space. Last weekend, more than 40 people attended a joint birthday party for Denise and one of her friends -- proof that the house can easily handle such a group. Because of the intense heat, no-one went outdoors, but it didn't feel particularly crowded inside and there was ample room to circulate. We heard many compliments on the house, which you should accept as compliments to you.

 

We enjoyed working with you too Mike, and I hope we can stay in touch.
